Fantascape #12: The Beast

I have the feeling here that some danger is approaching… but not from the dark side!

Can somebody else feel it too?

And please: don’t forget to give me a title for my fantascape #8 ! The titles you already proposed are simply fantastic, i enjoy it so much! There is no limits in the quantity of titles you can give me…

Paintings the Pinks…

You won’t believe it, but this is what I saw today, looking through exactly the same window as yesterday!

Just in another mood… still resting from fighting the bulls, but no nostalgia today, the present is pink, and the future even pinker! By the way: pink means happiness for me!

And using some strange paper and new tubes of acrylics which I bought today by accident, in fact while I was searching for telescopic feet…

Just to show you how differently I can I see nature around me… or at least, how my hand (or my brush) does!

Painting the Blues…

I was tired to fight the bulls this afternoon, layed the cape down, dreamt through the window and painted what I saw… just a little landscape in South of Spain, viewed by melancholical eyes…

Way out or way up?

I woke up very early this morning, and as i looked through the window to the village, I saw these strange figures, almost transparent, almost ghosts, arguing around… one seemed to be a priest, being showed the way out, or up, by a female dwarf… has anybody an idea what was going on there?

And anyway, I wonder now what is all going on, nights, in our towns, while we are sleeping… which creatures are filling our space!

Fantascape #11 : The Witch of La Sierra

Helen made me doubt… she saw a witch in my last fantascape, I didn’t first, but then… then I remembered that special night in Tahal, that little village in the Sierra (you can read my travel tale here... oh God, it reminds me that I forgot to write part 3!)) and I had a look this morning at the paintings I did at that time. And in fact I found something strange among them… well, I first thought it was a normal tree, but now… if you give it a closer look: doesn’t it look like a polka dotted witch?

By the way, I have got a pink polka dotted pyjama.. I wonder now… could it be me, -again!- the witch, in a haze of sleep walking?

And even more strange: were there two moons in the sky on that night?

Fantascape #10 : La Danse du Printemps

As Susan Cornelis and me decided to start the common project Fantascapes, I first proposed the title: “The Spring Dance”. She liked it, but said that it sounds much better in French. I don’t know what it is with the French language, but wherever I have been, people loved it and always said, that it sounds so beautiful. In German TV they go so far as to sometimes put ads in French, for things like perfumes for example. Apparently it doesn’t matter that nobody has a clue what they’re on about, it is enough that it is in French to convince of some elegance.

Anyway we then thought that “The Spring Dance” was too restrictive and we chose “Fantascapes”, allowing our crazy fantasies to spin around the whole of nature.

I saw many blogs showing spring images over the last few days and I thought I should join them, presenting my new fantascape, which is literally a spring dance. I really saw these trees dancing together by night as Spring arose, in a little village in the Spanish Sierra, some weeks ago…

And please: don’t forget to give me a title for my fantascape #8 (see last post)! The titles you already proposed are simply fantastic, i enjoy it so much! There is no limits in the quantity of titles you can give me…

Fantascape #9 : Grace under Pressure

While our beloved country girl with whom I started the series Fantascapes some weeks ago, is wandering through the streets and museums of the big city, I keep prisoner of my own fantasy, of all these creatures which have suddenly invaded my space and taken possession of all inanimated forms around me, forcing me to artistically testify that you can still see the wood looking at the trees, if only …

if only what?

If only we all had such grace under pressure!

And please: don’t forget to give me a title for my fantascape #8 (see last post)! The titles you already proposed are simply fantastic, i enjoy it so much! There is no limits in the quantity of titles you can give me…

Fantascape #8: Give Me a Title!

I really have a problem to find an adequate title for this creation, so I decided to submit it to your fantasy, allowing it as the next subject from my trimestrial competition “GIVE ME A TITLE”

The last one has been won by Dalila, from Aruba, Dutch Caribbean, with the wonderful title

“Dancing for Poseidon.”

To participate is very simple: just give me a title for my Fantascape #8 !

You can leave the title here as a comment (and I´ll add it myself to the list of the other titles in my website Goodaboom), or you can go directly to the competition page Give Me A Title.

By the way: there is something to win, a hand-signed A5 reproduction of the painting.

Good Luck and thanks for participating!

Wrong Anatomy of a Church?

Some days ago I wrote about the Spanish village Gatova, and generally about the incredible quantity of crosses everywhere in Spain. This is another sketch of Gatova, but I won’t fool you, the white cross is the same cross as in the other painting… with a view of the village on the other side! But strangely, in that village, there was no cross on the top of the church! Or did I simply forget the horizontal bar? Honestly, I have no idea… as you might have noticed already, I never take it so exactly with architecture and anatomy… and especially here, i might have thought that there were already enough (almost) horizontal lines in the painting!

Hello Sunshine, oh yeah!

Another sketch from Sarrion,…

And another wonderful day today in the Costa Blanca of Spain!

And sorry, no time for more words, today, I have an urgent portrait commission to do…
