Kevin told me that I should paint him, because he became quite newsworthy these days after having falling down from the stage!
So I did it, and I don’t even know the guy (sorry, I am musically totally ignorant, although Kevin is doing his very best to keep me informed… )
Anyway, this is a great face and a great attitude, and I really don’t care who he is and where he has fallen from, it was simply a deep pleasure to make his portrait. Well, in fact I made 2 portraits of him, the first one is to be found in my portrait blog here
Mixed technique of ink, watercolour and digital art.
When I get bored working at my travel sketches (and this happens regularly as I have many sketches … ) I go back to my wonderful computer and try some new stuff. As I said in a comment, the possibilities are infinite, and it means FREEDOM for me, which is perhaps the most important TOOL for me in art (and in life).
Yes, freedom is a tool… (never considered it that way before, it just occurred to me… )
Anyway, this art work is available directly on-line as Giclee print in many different dimensions, on paper or canvas, and also as greeting card. Just click on the widgets below to access my FAA store
And more generally you can see what all I paint by going to my gallery “Miki’s Enchanted World”
Some days ago I felt the need to go back to the world of portraits… this always happens to me after an intenive time of painting/sketching landscapes, which is right now the case with my travel sketches of Portugal and Spain.
This is a portarit of Keith Richards, you know, from the Rolling Stones…
how he looks like nowadays, a fascinating face to me.
This portrait is pure digital art, using my old Wacom tablet and the digital pen, of which I had forgotten the existence and in fact hardly used in the past. I can’t believe that I missed this tool all these years, as I enjoyed it so much! Now the tablet is definitely installed on my desk, and I will certainly use it more than once, for portraits or other kind of digital art. I must confess that I love digital art, one of the main reasons being that… it is soooo clean!

I have participated at the very last moment in a contest organised by The Infectious People… You might have seen it featured already in WordPress, as that is how I found it myself by accident yesterday. The theme was
“Show us what makes the heart of a blogger tick… An image for the voice of bloggers everywhere”
the aim of Infectious being to make laptop and iphone skins for bloggers.
It is certainly not my way to participate in such competitions, but well, in this case, my heart really ticked as I find blogging, and especially WordPress, a
World Wide Wonder.
So, these are the designs I submitted for an iphone and a laptop .
If you like them, you are welcome to vote for me there. But really, I am not trying here to gather votes from my friends, as it is something which I really hate in such competitions, when the participants mobilise their net of connections to vote for them.
My aim here is much more to show you one more of the 1,000 things I am busy with, and also to to incite the artists among you to participate to such competitions, They have another one going on at the moment, with the title
I was quite surprised by the “provocative”. To tell the truth this was only a further game with the photos of the glasses I took the other day instead of making the washing up…
and well, a drop of creative delirium on top of it, a drop of eroticism and plenty of color.
But I do wonder about the provocation… just because of one naked breast? Some artists show whole naked bodies all the time… my only aim was to make something appealing…
it does not matter, anyway, the “well done” is more than enough for me!

Wondering if I am turning myself always more towards Digital Art… The process started at the beginning of this year, using the blossoming almond trees as a pretext to extend my world of classical painting to a mixed technique involving digital art.
I am a little bit confused. I feel myself in the meanwhile more attracted by Digital paintings, when they are well done - Paintings by other artists or in my own creative process. They seem to satisfy much more my needs of mystery and impossible possibilities.
And… it is soooooo clean!
It allows me to be wild without filthying everything on and around me, clothes, tables, walls, floors,… of course I am missing the sensuality of paper, brushes, water… but there are computer tools which produce similar sensitive effects on my brain.
I know that I am running the risk to lose my faithful fans and clients with this new direction, as most people don’t accept digital art as art. At least I can say that my stuff is not solely digital art. It is strongly based on classical art.
Anyway: first of all, I paint for myself, and I have to do what I have to do:
Last week we introduced a new feature in the gallery. You won’t believe what it is… A Guess? No chance!
The new feature is…. Internet!
Ha ha Ha!
Well, since we have moved here we had no time to work on our internet connection and we were still working alternately on the net, being connected via wires. Now we have got an airport, and of course, the gallery being next door, we are able to steal from our own connection.
Considering the fact that most of the works I have done this year (series such as The Fantascapes, The Eroscapes, the Fantasprays, The Aquagames, The Pastel Games and finally “La Création du Monde”) are only available as Giclee prints, I thought that the best strategy would be to have some Giclee prints framed, as samples, and to show my online gallery to the clients, to allow them to choose what they want to order. Actually I have put my laptop there, but I might one day install a more sophisticated device, such as a projection screen… we will see.
Anyway the first day we had internet in the gallery we had the visit of an English singer and her art-loving daughter. Seeing one of my paintings, “Mildew Bookworm” she said:
“This would make a great character for a story!”
Well, the truth is, that about 2 years ago, Kevin wrote a short story, “The Thief of Hearts and The Firecat”, based on a series of my paintings, and made a little video out of it, in which Mildew narrates the story. And this is exactly what these 2 ladies and Kevin are laughing at on this photo:
So, if you want to have a laugh too, look at the following video!
Infinity, it´s all these creatures, out there in the universe, who don´t know me or pretend not to...
Some, it´s all of you, who know me, read my blog, look at my paintings, etc. with a sweet sympathy for all the ones who love me and my stuff and my friends´stuff too.
