2011 Valentines Countdown 03: Valentine Duval and his Love Wave

Here is the artwork with which Kev Moore will enter the Valentine’s art competition in our local Gallery “El Retiro” in Turre. With such a name and his heart-shaped guitar, that cute musician will surely be very welcome in the show and break many hearts!

Valentine Duval - by Kev Moore

By the way: it will be the first time that Kevin exhibits publicly one of his art works. This will be followed by a solo exhibition on the 11th of March, where he will present about 25 of his recent character paintings, all striking by their vibrant colours, the love of details and the humour.I wish him good luck for this new artist career.

As for myself, I will exhibit one of my Lovescapes, called “Love Wave”.

This painting is meant to show how I feel every time I think of Valentine Duval’s Father!  :-)

Austin Nights 04 – Nutz McGee

One night in February 2010 in Austin Kev Moore – the greatest musician of all time… you don’t know him” Shame on you! :-) – climbed up a tree with his guitar and had coffee and cookie with his favourite friend

Nutz McGee

one of these Austin cute squirrels!

Austin Nights 04 – by Miki

Now Kev Moore did a wonderful close-up portrait of Nutz Mcgee

Nutz Mc Gee - By Kev Moore

And here are his words about him:

“Nutz McGee is one of a dying breed of rare blue squirrel, found in the Mississippi Delta and parts of Texas. Nutz has made the blues harp his instrument of choice, and following a long stint in the Betty Ford clinic, has managed to resist stuffing the money he makes busking into his cheeks and collects it in a plate instead. He doesn’t eat much, but likes to take Coffee and Cinnamon swirls in trees with other musicians when the occasion presents itself.
Now I know it’s a bit mental, a squirrel taking up the blues harp, but well, he’s Nutz isn’t he?”

And if you are interested in buying a Giclee print of these paintings, they are available in many different sizes and on different supports – Papers, canvasses, etc.) in our FAA Gallery. Just click on the widgets please, and here you are, ready to spend money!  :-)

Back in the USA…

Street Musician in Memphis - by Miki

Well, not really, just in paintings. Motivated by the pleasure of feeding my new website “Painting the Music” with new artwork, I am actually working on some music paintings from the USA, New Orleans the last days, and Memphis today.

We saw that guy in Beale Street in Memphis, in January thus year. It was just a  gorgeous scene, as you can imagine.. and freezing cold! God, when I see this that guy blowing his trumpet, I get so melancholic, missing these music places so much… where we live there is nothing like that, no street, no bar, where one can go and listen to good life music.. or rarely… I wished we had such a Beale Street in Turre.. yes, me, I wish the blues under the sun all the year!

And as usual, this painting is available  as Giclee print, in different sizes and different formats, in my FAA Gallery:

And don’t forget, Kev moore’s CD “Blue Odyssey”, 18 track CD over 75 minutes running time, celebrating Kev’s trip around the Music Heartland of America in the early part of 2010.

I made the cover design.

To purchase in Miki’s Mart

Another kind of Artwork: Blue Odyssey

If you still don’t know it yet, it simply means that you are badly informed – shame on you! My partner, the English Rocker Kev Moore has written a new album, called “Blue Odyssey”.

It just arrived to us in Spain, fresh from the English press, and it looks great!

Of course, it must look great as an artist did the whole design… guess who?

Oh my God, praising myself? I seem to be in a very funny mood today.. I suppose it is because our football team Derby County, “The Rams”.  is suddenly doing so great… if you don’t know that either, this really means that you are very badly informed, BIG shame on you!

Anyway, as I said I did the design. A tough job, 6 panels, meaning 6 designs plus the disc label. Kevin wanting mostly photos from our trip to the USA on there, I was a little bit restricted in my creativity, but well, there was still room for artistic stuff. The cover had to be mainly blue, because of the title. But I could not help adding some very colourful stuff, and I found the guitar (one of a series displayed around the city) seen in Austin just perfect to this aim. The place names on the sidewalk are the stops on our Blue Odyssey.

Blue Odyssey - The Cover

One of my favourite designs on the album is “The Fence”. This is the Panel where he gives all the credits to everybody. By the way, I act not only as CD designer, but also as “Productive Executor”…

The third panel represents a fence, a photo taken by Kevin if I remember well. As I saw the photo it reminded me of the the skylines in the USA, so I added very discreetly a representative building of Nashville and one from Austin on 2 bars of the fence. I just adore it (sorry for the self compliments!)

And also I like the disc label. Mister Kev Moore in the form of the Statue of Liberty holding a microphone instead of a flame torch.

And if you want to know what is under the disc (and of course within the disc, meaning the music), you will have to buy the album! You get it on-line from Miki’s Mart

or by contacting me.

Moore Music and More…

more-music-studio-1

Kev Moore in action!

Most of you here will already know him as I never miss an occasion to tell you about him, how much I love him and how much he supports me in my artist’s career!

2 weeks ago we finished making my new gallery in our new place,  and without waiting one second he then started building his new sound studio.

To mark this occasion he started a new blog yesterday, which he will entirely dedicate to his musician’s life, and believe me…

IT ROCKS!

So if you want to know MOORE about a Rocker’s Life behind the (sound) curtains, just go to

Moore Music

The Coffee Cup Mambo

Kev Moore, Rocker and  Mon Amour, wrote this piece a few months back, in homage to Cafe Crem. He dedicated it to all our friends there, and I myself want to dedicate it too to all my friends HERE who love their coffee in the morning and can’t function without it… as we do!I

Fantascapes: the Other Dimension

Kev Moore, as a writer and a musician is finally joining the project “Fantascapes”, after Susan and me ganged up on him!

Each of my Fantascapes paintings, in turn, will be the soundboard for a section of a continuing story by Kev Moore. which will unfold as we go.

Susan´s paintings will form a short film to which Kev Moore will write an original piece of music when her series is finished.

We all have no idea what will happen. Let’s see where it takes us!

The first step is already taken: “The Great Fire of Gaia”, Kev Moore´s Tale inspired by Miki´s Fantascapes, has begun!

Valentine´s Betrayal

I am devastated: my boyfriend Kev Moore has a new Valentine today! I just found them together, asleep, in each other´s arms…
